Volunteers to chair the meetings, read and bring recovery related readings are welcome. If you are celebrating an anniversary please let us know so we can all see how it works.
Some technical notes about skype meetings:
To run a skype meeting one person (i.e. coordinator ) must set up the call and call each member. In the skype window there is a button that says "add people". click on the button and add the people you want in the meeting. Then they will become part of a group and skype calls all the members. Only one person can make the call. If a new person wishes to join the coordinator must call them. The new person cannot call in or it will disconnect the group. At each meeting one person must act as coordinator and keep track of the members. If you have trouble connecting or get disconnected send a text message to the others to get back on track. Volunteers to be coordinator are also welcome. With all things technical and human there are problems. We are striving for progress not perfection. Sorry if the sound is poor sometimes. Try to use a good headset or microphone. When others are talking click on the mute button on the skype window. This will turn off your microphone and it helps reduce noise in the meeting. When you wish to talk click on un mute. More members and more meetings are good for all of us. Our fellowship will become stronger. If you wish to have more meetings we can have as many as we want. It only takes two or three people. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern. New meetings can have new formats if anyone wishes. And they can be at the best times for you. Thanks for your support and keep coming back - it works if you work it.
Sincerely, Jim L.., one day at a time |
